There are many gambling halls in the commonwealth, most on stationary barges. The biggest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino area, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, like twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; also 3 eatery’s, bimonthly entertainment, and betting lessons. One more big Native American gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are numerous other dominant Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a river based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot paddle wheel boat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday chemin de fer events.
Iowa casinos offer an awesome deal of tax revenue to the state of Iowa, which has permitted the budgeting of a good many commonwealth wide activities. Tourism has grown at a rapid percentage along with the request for services and a gain in jobs. Iowa casinos have been instrumental to the growth of the economy, and the excitement for gaming in Iowa is across the board.
